PUBLIC NOTICE

INVITATION TO BID

SUGAR NOTCH BOROUGH is soliciting bids for the collection, removal and disposal of combined refuse for a one year, three year, or five year term beginning on January 1, 2023; and for the collection, removal and disposal of combined refuse and commingled recyclables for a one, three, or five year term beginning on January 1, 2023.  Copies of the bid documents are available at the Office of the Sugar Notch Borough Solicitor, Sean W. Logsdon, Esquire, 85 Drasher Road, Drums, PA 18222.  A $35.00 non-refundable fee is required for a copy of the Bid package, which includes the specifications, instructions and contract documents. Checks must be made payable to Sugar Notch Borough.  Sealed Bids will be received at the Office of the Borough Solicitor until 3:00 P.M., July 6, 2022 and will be publicly opened at the regularly scheduled meeting of Sugar Notch Borough Council on July 6, 2022 at 6:00 P.M. at the Sugar Notch Borough Municipal Building, 892 Main Street, Sugar Notch, Pennsylvania 18706. Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond, or a certified or cashier’s check payable to Sugar Notch Borough in an amount equal to ten (10%) percent of the first twelve months of the bid amount must accompany the Bid, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The successful Bidder will be required to give the Borough a performance bond with an approved surety company in the amount of one hundred (100%) percent of each twelve months of the contract.  Sugar Notch Borough reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bidding procedures.  The Borough of Sugar Notch does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability or familial status in employment or the provisions of service.

PLANNING MEETING

Sugar Notch Planning Commission Meeting is scheduled for July 27, 2022 at 6 p.m. to review Earth Conservancys application. The meeting will be held at the Sugar Notch Borough Bldg.

 

 

2022 ANNUAL GARBAGE STICKER NOTICES HAVE BEEN BEEN MAILED

RESIDENTIAL FEE $175 per household

COMMERCIAL FEE $275 per business

Payment is due on or before March 31, 2022 late payments will be subject to a $50 late fee 

No cash mail check or money order to SNB Garbage 379 Hill St. you must include a self addressed stamped envelope so sticker can be mailed back to you 

 

PAST DUE SEWER AMOUNTS

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT ANY RESIDENT WHO HAD PAST DUE SEWER AMOUNTS FROM LCRA BILLING ENDING DECEMBER 2013 WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE INITIAL BILLING BY PENN REVENUE.

ANY PAST DUE AMOUNTS WILL NOW BE SHOWN AND WILL BE COLLECTED WITH THE REGULAR BILLING BY PENN REVENUE USING A VARIETY OF OPTIONS INCLUDING LIENS, COLLECTION AGENCIES, ETC.  IT IS HIGHLY ADVISABLE TO PAY ANY PAST DUE AMOUNTS TO AVOID ANY LIENS AND/OR POSSIBLE LITIGATION.

                       SUGAR NOTCH BOROUGH                        MEETING DATES 2022

NOTICE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Sugar Notch Borough Council will meet at 6:00 P.M. on the following dates in 2022 at the Sugar Notch Borough Municipal Building located at 892 Main Street, Sugar Notch, PA: January 3 & 5, February 2, March 2, April 6, May 4, June 1, July 6 , August 3 , September 7, October 5, November 2, December  7. Work sessions will be held at 6:00 P.M. on February 16, April 20, June 15, August 17, October 19. The Sugar Notch Borough Planning Commission will meet the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:30 P.M., as needed. 

All Meetings will be held at the Sugar Notch Borough Building.

Any changes to this schedule will be advertised in the newspaper and on website as well as posted at Borough Building.

The Public is invited and encouraged to attend via zoom. The sign in information for all zoom meetings will be posted on website 24 hours before meetings.

Sugar Notch Borough Council Meetings

 

Council Meetings are the 1st Wednesday of the Month.

 



Council Work Sessions are the 3rd Wednesday of every other month or as advertised by Council.

 

All meetings are held at the town hall at 6:30 PM.

 

 

We are looking for pictures to display on our website.  If you have any that you feel may be of interest, please submit electronically.  We especially need one for the main picture of our website.
