HALLOWEEN PARADE WILL BE AT 1PM ON OCTOBER 28. LINE UP IS AT BEGINNING OF TOWN ON MAIN ST. AND WILL END AT THE HOLY FAMILY CHURCH MAIN ST. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WILL THEN HAVE A TRUNK OR TREAT. If it rains parade will be at church.

SUGAR NOTCH: Representatives from the Sugar Notch Fire Department are advising residents they will be conducting a door to door survey of residents within the Borough. This survey will qualify the Borough for a Federal Grant. The survey will be conducted to gather information to support the Borough’s Application for the Federal Community Development Block Grant which provides funding through Luzerne County and will benefit the Borough and residents of Sugar Notch. The information gathered will be confidential. Gathering information, completing the survey and obtaining Federal funding will help the Borough to repair the streets of the Sugar Notch Borough and update emergency equipment for the Sugar Notch Fire Department. The Sugar Notch Borough Council appreciates the cooperation of its residents.

PAST DUE SEWER AMOUNTS
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT ANY RESIDENT WHO HAD PAST DUE SEWER AMOUNTS FROM LCRA BILLING ENDING DECEMBER 2013 WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE INITIAL BILLING BY PENN REVENUE.
ANY PAST DUE AMOUNTS WILL NOW BE SHOWN AND WILL BE COLLECTED WITH THE REGULAR BILLING BY PENN REVENUE USING A VARIETY OF OPTIONS INCLUDING LIENS, COLLECTION AGENCIES, ETC. IT IS HIGHLY ADVISABLE TO PAY ANY PAST DUE AMOUNTS TO AVOID ANY LIENS AND/OR POSSIBLE LITIGATION.

Garbage Collection Changes
Attached is a letter which outlines items that will not be collected at curbside. This is a Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection mandate which all municipalities must adhere to. Items that are determined to fall in these categories at collection time will be tagged as non-collectable.
